Obama Inn Fire Displaces Female Sex Workers (FSWs)
Bor, Jonglei State –14th March 2024
A fire broke out at 11:20 PM late last night at the Obama Inn, located in Bor Town.
Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries or deaths associated with the incident. However, the fire has displaced 6 Female Sex Workers (FSWs) who have lost their belongings including shelter, clothes, and other personal effects. The FSWs require urgent humanitarian support as their livelihood is disrupted and shelters are destroyed with shelter materials, clothes, WASH items, and food as they go through this situation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The Obama Inn management is working closely with local authorities to determine the blaze’s origin.
