Yohanis Riek has over 15 years of experience in Board-level leadership and 10 years in private-sector development in South Sudan. Currently, Yohanis is the Group CEO at Yo’ Group, Inc. focusing on business development, portfolios management, teams training and development, accountability oversight, fiduciary and governance, and lead in resource mobilization for the Yo’ Group and its subsidiaries as well as technical backstopping on projects.

He is the President of Yo’ Care South Sudan, a Juba-based not-for-profit, non-political, Non-Government Organization (NGO) incorporated under the Law of the Republic of South Sudan which he founded and established in December 2009. The organization is currently run by South Sudanese medical, healthcare, and nutritional professionals to create, develop, and provide comprehensive and integrated basic healthcare, nutrition, and WASH (Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation) services to the South Sudanese public.

Yohanis is a serial entrepreneur and founded 3 other Juba-based social enterprises in three industries: Yo’ Books Ltd. (2011) – distributing and selling books, magazines, publishing, and general stationery supplies; Yo’ Dairy Ltd (2014) – processing and distributing dairy products and farming; and Yo’ Care Ltd (2020) – dealing in healthcare, pharmaceutical, and veterinary products.

In addition, he served in various leadership capacities in many global leadership organizations including being an Alumni of the prestigious Mandela Washing Fellowship in the USA (2021), TED Global Fellow (2022), Injini – Africa’s EdTech Accelerator & Think Tank (2017 – 2018), and Curator of Juba Hub – Global Shapers Community/World Economic Forum (2014 – 2015), and International Conference of the Great Lakes Region Youth Forum (2017 – 2021).

Yohanis is a trained and practicing Medical Doctor at Juba Teaching Hospital (JTH) in the Dept of General Surgery. He holds a double-major degree in Medicine & Surgery (MB, BS) from the University of Juba (2018), and a PDip in Public Administration at the same University (2020).
